Welcome! Senior portraits are a right of passage, you could say. If you've been looking forward to this for years, awesome! I can't wait to help make your dream come true! If you hate having your picture taken and can't wait to get it over with so your mom'll quit annoying you about this, I've got your back, too! Or maybe you land somewhere in the middle, and that's perfectly fine. Whatever you feel about senior photos, I'll make the process as simple and fun (or at least painless) as possible! You'll come away with pictures that you like, your parents like, and you won't be embarrassed sharing with your friends...or even your hypothetical future kids.
There are no surprise fees, no minimum purchases, nothing like that. You can share your pictures on social media, order prints and design graduation announcements from anywhere you want, basically anything. They're yours!
I'll tell you exactly what to do, walking you through poses that feel natural. It's not unusual for me to ask, "Does that seem like something you'd do?" I want you to look and feel like yourself! That may or may not include a few silly shots for good measure! Have an idea suddenly strike you? Why not--let's try it!
If you know what you want to wear and you've already got locations in mind, awesome! If not, no worries! I have plenty of suggestions and I'm happy to assist with the planning as much or as little as you need. Can't decide what to wear? Send me pictures and I can help you choose, or we can video chat if you'd like! Or bring all your options to your session and we'll decide the day of :) I can also give you some tips on accessories and props to incorporate into your session.

Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn's photos were taken in December in Weiser, Idaho at the train depot and the Snake River Heritage Center. Her cap and gown pictures were taken in May at Weiser High School and Midvale Bridge. At the depot, Lacey from Photo Grove let us take a few shots with their black classic pickup! Kaitlyn was thrilled! Her outfits included her school automotive club sweatshirt, a black top and jeans, and a red patterned dress. Kaitlyn brought many props: a pennant she made herself, her car, a crown, a favorite Christmas blanket, college sweatshirt, and more! She put a lot of thought into it!
Ben
Ben's photos were taken in early November in Weiser, Idaho at Sunnyside Farm. We were very grateful to the Davies for allowing us to use their property! Ben opted for one outfit, but it was a great choice: his brown and black flannel shirt fit perfectly with the season and with his hair color. We brought in his dog Pepper for a few pictures, and we really enjoyed the old red car on the property. Although this session was only about one hour, it turned out to be the perfect amount of time.
Jacob
Jacob's photos were taken in late October at Fruitland High School in Fruitland, Idaho, and at Kiwanis Park in Payette, Idaho. His cap and gown pictures were taken in May in Fruitland. Jacob had a great variety of clothing choices from his future college t-shirt to a flamingo button down, and from his track team sweatshirt to a patterned dress shirt and jacket. He brought his session to the next level with his track cleats, unicycle, long board, viola, and Bible.
Kyla
Kyla's pictures were taken in mid-October in Weiser, Idaho at the Snake River Heritage Center, Weiser Community Pond, and on the highway 201 bridge. The blossoming tree photos were taken in April in Ontario, Oregon, as were her May cap and gown pictures. Her golden blouse complimented her skin tone nicely, her graduation dress coordinated with her cap and gown, and she layered a jacket over patterned shirts for timeless look that still showed her personality. I really enjoyed all the fun ideas she had for her pictures...and her black hat!
Natalie
I shot Natalie's portraits in late September in Boise, Idaho at Kathryn Albertson Park and the Boise Depot. The park was busy as always, but who can tell?! Natalie chose a casual but classic look with a plaid shirt and jeans, a solid colored dress for a formal outfit, and a comfy but feminine blouse with fun heels. We were having so much fun, we could've continued shooting even past our 2.5 hours if the sun hadn't gone down!
Aaron
We did Aaron's senior pictures in late December at the Boise Depot and in the adjacent Platt Gardens. Aaron's choice of solid colors looked timeless and classy, and his dark sweater contrasted nicely with his lighter colored dress shirts. One of my favorite things about this shoot was the way I could use the Depot's architecture as part of the composition, or use more plain sections of the building to focus on Aaron himself.
RWP senior portraits are $375. To request information about add-on sessions during different seasons or at a farther location, cap and gown only sessions (great for college grads, too!), graduation ceremony coverage, and/or graduation party photos, click here to enquire.
SESSION LENGTH
At first, everyone feels awkward getting their photo taken. After a few minutes, we'll find a rhythm and it'll feel much more natural. Some of my favorite images were taken toward the end of a session! For guys, typically 1-1.5 hours is just right. For girls, we're usually still having fun after 2-2.5 hours! Because everyone is different, I feel this out on an individual basis.
LOCATIONS & OUTFITS
Usually we have time for 1-2 main locations, but if they're close together, we can do more. I suggest 2-4 outfits: one more formal, one more casual, and one in between. You can also create more perceived variety in your clothing choices with layers. One super easy outfit change is just throwing on a jacket or sweater.
RWP SENIOR PORTRAITS INCLUDE:
• 1-1.5 hours (or more)
• About 3 outfits
• 1-3 locations, depending on time
• 50+ high resolution images
• Online gallery for easy downloading and sharing
• Complimentary cap and gown mini session in spring, 30-45 minutes, 20-30 images
"Thanks again for not picking your nose. Seriously. That would've been really weird."

Look through my portfolio, see if you like my style, read a bit about me to find out if we might be a good fit. Follow me on Instagram, if you like. It's SO important to me that you find a photographer whose personality you like, even if that's not me!
Let's see if I can fit you into my calendar. Like most photographers, my highest demand season is mid-October to early November. Everybody wants fall colors--who can blame them?! But don't worry, I can make any season work.
Whether in person over coffee or froyo, via Zoom, or through email, let's talk about what you want to get out of your senior photos, where you might like to go, clothing ideas, all that! Bring all your questions--I'll answer 'em!
You're officially booked when we both sign a simple contract and I receive your $125 retainer fee. (You can pay the full $375 all at once, of course, if that's easier.)
I'm available to help as much or as little as you like with decisions like outfits and accessories. Don't forget to plan your shoes for each outfit! We'll also check into any required location permits or fees.
If you didn't pay it at the beginning, your final payment of $250 is due on or before your session.
Let's go take some photos! Make sure your clothes are ironed and hanging on hangers or laid out gently in your vehicle. Arrive on time or a little early so we can make the most of your time. You might want to celebrate with ice cream afterward. Just sayin'.
About 2-3 weeks after your session, I'll email you the link to your gallery. You can download, print, share, design graduation announcements with your images, etc. Share a favorite on IG for #seniorsunday throughout the year.
Get ahold of me as soon as you receive your cap and gown (usually late April, early May) and we'll schedule a quick session. We repeat steps 7 and 8 by taking pictures in your cap and gown and then you'll receive your image files in about one week.
Turn your tassel, throw a party, and ride off into the sunset (or whatever). You've earned it!
High school was incredibly difficult for me. I'd left all my friends behind in another state, my new school's requirements wouldn't allow me to participate in band anymore, the few "friends" I had at school weren't a very good influence on me, and of course, I faced all the normal challenges of being a teenager, too. However, I found friends and positive role models in my youth group. I spent most of my free time with my church friends, especially my Bible quizzing teammates.
After junior year and a trip overseas, I took more photographs of quiz meets and youth group events than I ever had before (and that was back when we all had FILM cameras!). I also journaled every day of my senior year. I didn't realize it at the time, but my daily 2-3 paragraphs would reveal a lot about how I was growing and becoming more confident. Looking back, some of my observations as an 18-year-old were startlingly mature. Others not so much! HA HA! Either way, those memories are even more precious to me now.
Obviously I can't be that one teacher at your school that you can talk to about your life, that youth leader at your church (unless you happen to be a teen Bible quizzer at my church, that is!), or record every day of your senior year for you. But I hope that I can serve you not only as a photographer, but more like a friend who helps you savor and preserve your last year as a high school student.
