Between wind, rain, and peach blossoms that took their time opening, Jason and Anna had every reason to say, “Forget it, it’s not worth it.” But they didn’t! We emailed back and forth for almost two weeks, watching forecasts, messaging the owners of the orchard, and postponing again. Jason and Anna were so gracious and flexible, and we were ultimately rewarded with pink blossoms, very little wind, and only a few raindrops!
I was really looking forward to this session, but not just because of the blossoms. A year and a half ago, I photographed their family out in Weiser and it was a lot of fun! I was excited to see them again, and especially see how much the little ones have grown! It reminds me to cherish the time I have with my girls. Additionally, this was right before Easter and the delicate flowers were a timely metaphor of new life!
Also, I learned after the fact that these are actually peach trees, not pear trees as I’d been saying the whole time. Oops! Oh well! Guess I’ll have to come back this summer, right?! [wink] The low branches made it easy to sit and climb in the trees, so we did a little of that! We found a spot with smaller trees with thinner branches, and that turned out to be the best place to see the blossoms. However, the rows of trees with pink flowers overhead was neat, too. Jason and Anna, thank you for your patience as we waited for the trees to bloom. I hope you enjoy these images and our time together as much as I have!
Nothing says, “Family” quite like being silly together!! Oh my goodness, he thought it was hilarious when I popped around one side or the other of this large branch! I was smiling so much that my face was hurting!
I just love her curly hair bouncing behind her when she’s running! Sooo cute! Big sis of the year nominee right here! She kept her brother and sister busy while we did some pictures of just Mom and Dad. Plus, she totally played along with the silly things we did to get the little ones smiling, even though she’s way too cool for that stuff. Evidence of said coolness:
See you guys later, I’m outta here!
While I was editing this whole session, I kept saying to myself, “Oh my gosh, they’re so cute!” and not just while I was post processing the kids’ pictures! These two, aren’t they just the sweetest?!
