At the end of May, I photographed Ana’s quinceñera portrait session in downtown Boise at the Idaho State Capitol and Albertson Park. It was a beautiful day, and Ana was such a natural. She could easily switch her expression from serious and thoughtful to smiling and laughing. We had a blast! Her brother Jose, who will be one of her chambelanes, joined us. He was a good sport the whole time and we took a few pictures of him and Ana together.
If you want to skip ahead to the party, here are Ana’s Treasure Valley quinceañera celebration photos.
Ana was absolutely stunning in her gorgeous light purple gown. The Capitol’s marble walls made her photos look even more regal and refined. This first image, Ana and her family chose to have printed as a gallery block to display at the quinceañera party.

Ana’s mom made her this beautiful embroidered shawl to match her dress. Ana will primarily wear it for the church service, but it was so stunning that we had to include it in some photos here and there. Ana also brought her purple bouquet. Likewise, we did some photos with it and some without.

One of the fun parts of a quinceañera dresses is how wonderfully it poofs out!

Light smile, laughing, thoughtfully looking off camera…Ana can do it all!

I LOVED this spot! She’s surrounded in a sea of purple and I can’t get over it!

Look at how detailed her shawl is! And that’s on tulle! Incredible.

Like I mentioned, we needed to make sure her brother Jose had a couple cameos.

After our time at the Capitol, we drove over to Albertson Park. Sometimes this spot by the fountain can be tricky to photograph, but the sunlight cooperated. Ana and her family framed this image below for the reception. In addition to a traditional guestbook, guests could sign the photo frame.

I ended up taking a lot of photos here at this bridge by the Rookery because the light was perfect.

A couple more with Jose, of course.

Thanks for a lovely afternoon, Ana! I can’t wait to photograph your quinceañera in a few weeks!
