Aaron & Amanda’s Family | Erie, Pennsylvania

While in Erie, Pennsylvania visiting friends from college, I went out to the Union City Dam with my friends Amanda and Aaron and their family. The late spring rains had finally let up and everything was green. Well, let’s be honest: compared to Idaho, Pennsylvania is beautiful and lush and green most of the year, not just in spring! It’s so wonderfully different. Even though I lived in Erie not so long ago (okay, okay, it’s actually been 14 years now!), I couldn’t stop watching the trees, grasses, and rolling hills go by everywhere I drove. So you can imagine my delight when Aaron and Amanda brought me out to the dam. Wow! It was amazing!

Of course, the real joy was getting to spend time with my friends (Amanda was one of my college roommates!) and their children. You may only see three kids in these pictures, but Amanda and Aaron are actually expecting their fifth! Their second baby, a little girl they named Jubilee, was stillborn. We incorporated a casting of her feet into a couple photos toward the end. Jubilee would’ve been only three months younger than my oldest daughter. I wish we could’ve seen them play together. My youngest daughter has already decided she loves Aaron and Amanda’s oldest, though. When I was editing these images, she kept toddling over to my desk and demanding to see her pictures! I think my daughter thought it was her big sister!

Aaron and Amanda, thank you for letting me spend so much time your precious family. And bonus points for choosing such an awesome location! Now that I’m finished with these photos, I’ll get back to working on the teleporter…(I wish!). It is always a joy to be with you, and I love seeing you and your family grow–in more ways that one!

Their family spends a lot of time reading together, and Aaron and Amanda hope to pass on a love of reading to their children. I’m pretty sure it’s working!

Like my daughter, little miss enjoys Daniel Tiger, so we had to do “ugga mugga”! If you don’t know what Daniel Tiger is, one, you’re missing out, and two, ugga mugga is rubbing noses.

Aaron makes a lot of great faces, so you know, I had to keep some of them, too!

Here we go, the kids with a casting of their sister’s feet! And littlest miss got to hold the fuzzy bear just because!

It’s everybody! Mommy, Daddy, and five precious little ones!

As always, I like to take a few pictures of just Mom and Dad. Oftentimes, parents haven’t had a professional photo taken of just the two of them since their wedding. Let’s change that! This is one teeny tiny way I want to help couples pass on a legacy of strong marriages to their children.

I was just going to finish up the session by having them walk back toward me, but then the kids wanted to join them! What was I going to say, no? Of course not!
