David & Connie’s Wedding | Ontario, Oregon

In August, I photographed David and Connie’s wedding here in Ontario. The decor was simple and the program laid back, allowing their joy to take center stage–these two barely stopped smiling all day! They proved to everyone that your marriage vows are what make a wedding, not expensive catering, fancy cakes, the first dance, or even the bouquet and garter tosses. Don’t get me wrong, I love flowers, toasts, hors d’oeuvres, and all that as much as anyone, but it was nice to see that a wedding can be stripped to its essence and it’s still beautiful. I particularly enjoyed being able to incorporate little things that were important to them, like CrossFit, into their photography. Okay, so this first picture of dumbbells isn’t all that CrossFit-y, but I couldn’t resist since the weights spelled out their wedding date.

During the rehearsal, Connie’s father said he planned to give an “eloquent and profound” speech before giving away his daughter. We were all wondering what exactly that might mean…

…and it did turn out to be quite meaningful.

Connie is a photobombing specialist–she loves to jump into others’ photos uninvited. So of course we needed someone to do the same in her photos!

Peanut butter cake. Yep. You read that right. PEANUT BUTTER! Clearly, these two don’t feel like sharing 🙂
